Neil Gaiman – Terry Pratchett: Good Omens

Every year there are a number of books which get propelled to the top of all the best seller lists due to the simple fact that they get adapted for television or made into a feature film, and viewers wish to have the original under their belts in advance. Very few books deserve this amount of attention as much as Good Omens, this fascinating piece co-written by two British fantasy-giants, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Originally published in 1990, the book centres around the hilarious duo of an angel and a demon, who are working together on finding the eleven year old Antichrist, and are trying to prevent the apocalypse, the destruction of the world of human beings they have grown rather fond of in their own ways during the past millennia. The book’s sizzling humour and masterful storytelling is a memento of its authors’ unfathomable mastery of the comedy-fantasy genre.

Jo Nesbø: Knife

Adrian McKinty: The Chain
